How do repeating groups work in Blue Ocean ATS messaging?
Repeating groups trace the lifecycle of an order through handoffs and MPID identifiers.
Repeating groups are used to trace the lifecycle of an order as it passes through different handoffs. They are not required, but if used, must follow FIX protocol standards.
Key fields include:
-
453 – NoPartyIDs: Number of parties in the following Parties Group.
-
448 – PartyID: MPID identifier.
-
447 – PartyIDSource: Always “C.”
-
452 – PartyRole: Always “1.”
When populated, these fields create a chain of MPIDs, allowing participants to follow the history of an order.
